Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction (18 in India), you may use the Service only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you are authorized to bind that organization to these Terms.
The Service and pilot status
Basalt lets you generate, edit, and validate architecture diagrams (including cloud, hybrid, and industrial/OT systems) using AI. The Service is currently offered on a limited pilot / pre-release basis. It may contain errors, may change, and may be modified, suspended, or discontinued at any time without notice. Features, limits, and pricing may change.
Access codes
Access to the pilot may require an access code. You agree not to share, resell, or attempt to guess or brute-force access codes, and not to circumvent access, usage, or rate-limit controls. We may revoke access at any time.
Your account
You access the Service using Google sign-in. You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account and for maintaining the security of the Google account you use to sign in. Notify us promptly at satvikmishra04@gmail.com of any unauthorized use.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service in violation of any law or regulation;
- upload or generate content that is unlawful, infringing, or that you are not authorized to share;
- attempt to circumvent rate limits, budgets, authentication, or other technical controls;
- probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service, or access it without authorization, except under a security-testing arrangement we have agreed to in writing;
- reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code or underlying models of the Service, except to the extent this restriction is prohibited by law;
- use the Service to build a competing product, or to scrape or bulk-extract data from it; or
- interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service.
Your content
As between you and us, you retain ownership of the diagrams, source (DSL), and prompts you create ("Your Content"). You grant us a limited license to host, process, transmit, and display Your Content solely to operate and provide the Service to you, including sending it to our AI provider to generate results (see our Privacy Policy).
You are responsible for Your Content and represent that you have the rights to submit it. Do not submit confidential, regulated, personal, or security-sensitive information (for example non-public production infrastructure details or credentials) that you are not authorized to disclose to third-party processors.
AI-generated output — no guarantee of accuracy
The Service uses AI models to produce diagrams, suggestions, and validation results. AI output can be inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading, and may not reflect real-world systems, standards, or your specific requirements. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying all output before relying on it.
Not professional, engineering, safety, or compliance advice
This is important, especially for industrial, OT/ICS, and compliance-related use.
Basalt is a drafting and visualization aid. Any references it makes to standards or frameworks (for example IEC 62443, NIST 800-82, the Purdue Model, or cloud or cybersecurity frameworks), and any "validation," "compliance," or "warning" output, are informational aids only. They are not engineering advice, safety certification, a compliance audit, a security assessment, or professional advice of any kind, and they do not certify that any system is compliant, safe, or secure.
You must not rely on the Service as the basis for designing, operating, securing, or certifying any real-world system, and especially not any safety-critical or industrial control system. Any such design, deployment, or compliance decision must be independently reviewed and approved by appropriately qualified professionals. You assume all risk arising from any reliance on the Service's output.
Our intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, models, and content (excluding Your Content), is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. Except for the rights expressly granted to you to use the Service, we reserve all rights.
Third-party services
The Service relies on third-party providers (including Supabase, OpenAI, Vercel, Railway, and Google). Your use of the Service may also be subject to those providers' terms, and we are not responsible for their acts or omissions.
Fees
The pilot is currently provided free of charge, subject to usage budgets and limits we set. We may introduce fees in the future; if we do, we will make the terms available before charging you.
Availability
We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free, or that any output will be available or preserved. We may impose or change usage limits at any time.
Disclaimer of warranties
The Service and all output are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including without limitation implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service or its output will meet your requirements or be accurate or reliable.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business, arising out of or relating to your use of, or inability to use, the Service or its output, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amounts you paid us for the Service in the three months before the claim, or (b) one hundred U.S. dollars (USD $100).
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Satvik Mishra from and against any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to Your Content, your use of the Service, or your breach of these Terms.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause or notice. You may stop using the Service at any time and may request deletion of your account. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 6–9 and 13–17) will survive.
Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in India for any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service, subject to any mandatory rights you have under local law.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
